Biography Wade has a heart for songs that tell a story- songs that make us feel a little less alone, songs that connect us with ourselves and with each other. During his journey of the past 20+ years as a singer-song writer, producer and pastor for the arts, he has aspired to create experiences and projects where the music brought vulnerability and authenticity to the storytelling process, whether that was utilizing original material, or re-working covers of some of his favorite songs and songwriters. New Heaven New Earth is his latest release of recordings that features a wide variety of covers from artists like Bruce Springsteen, U2, Loreena McKennitt, Emmylou Harris, Peter Himmelman and Neil Young. The project also features 10 original collages from artist Amy Keenan-Amago, and strives to spark a conversation around the ideas of redemption, resurrection and the world being set right. It started as an EP project for Emmaus Way Church, but when Wade stepped down from that job to re-engage his studio work, the vision for a fuller project began to take shape. Through conversations with his wife Denise, Amy Keenan-Amago, and inspired by some of the writing of N.T. Wright they began to develop the ideas that turned into a piece that touches on hurt and healing, race and religion, capitalism and greed, provincialism and globalism, and life, death and life after death. New Heaven New Earth is a follow-up to We, a personal record chronicling Wade’s journey through roads to healing, love and loss, and community and connection. We engages many of the same themes of New Heaven New Earth through a more personal lens, and marked Wade’s first solo record since his college days.

After 7 years of touring and recording with the Basics on the west coast, Wade moved to Durham, NC where he has recorded, mixed and mastered numerous records at his studio, the Second Story for various singer-songwriters and bands over the past 15 years.
